Hanz Lee

JAWS Architects, Australia

Hobart, Australia

Hanz Lee is a Director at JAWSARCHITECTS and has over 15 years of experience in the planning, design and delivery of healthcare facilities.

He leads the practice’s healthcare sector across Tasmania, working closely with clinicians, health planners, government agencies and multidisciplinary consultant teams to create environments that offer creative solutions, room to breathe, and support the wellbeing of both patients and staff.

Hanz has led the design of numerous healthcare projects throughout Tasmania, ranging from primary care and community health facilities to major acute hospital redevelopments. His work focuses on balancing clinical functionality, operational efficiency and architectural quality, ensuring healthcare environments are practical, adaptable and centred on the needs of patients, families and care providers.

Hanz has a particular interest in designing environments that support compassionate, person-centred care, where architecture contributes positively to dignity, comfort and wellbeing.

At the conference, he will share insights from the current Launceston Hospice project, discussing the opportunities and challenges of adapting an existing facility into a purpose-built hospice and reflecting on how thoughtful design can support patients, families and healthcare professionals throughout the end-of-life journey.
